A Dog's Day Playhouse offers training classes. Our trainer, Trudi Schoening, is passionate in helping dog owners understand the importance of having a well trained dog. A trained dog is the foundation for having good behavior. She teaches owners good daily habits to make your life much easier and happier with your dog. Everyone should have a long and wonderful life with their companions. Positive reinforcement creates a strong bond with your dog. There are no electronic collars, prong collars or choke chains during the sessions. Training is done with flat buckle collars, body harnesses or head halters.

Our mission is to modify negative behavior which may lessen the enjoyment you get from your dog and may lead to relinguishing your beloved family pet. The classes instruct owners on how to communicate with their pets in the dog's natural language and how to fulfill the dog's first and most important need: leadership.

THE BASICS

This class is designed for any dog that has not learned their basic obedience commands. This is an excellent class for a new puppy or an older dog that has never had obedience training.

*Sit, when you ask the first time.

*Lie Down, when it's time to relax.

*Learn a reliable Stay

*Come, every time you call.

*Walk with you, without pulling.

IMPULSE TRAINING

Training your dog is a lifetime commitment. Don't stop with the basic training. This class is a continuation of General Training  with a focus on more consistency and higher expectations. 

* Jumping 

* Lunging at People & Dogs 

* Controlled Walking

* Backing Away & Dropping Things

* Stay & Wait on Command

PRIVATE LESSONS

Private lessons are available by appointment. Lessons can be done at daycare while your dog is there and you won't have to schedule a lesson at home.  Each lesson is one hour long and will be tailored to meet your needs.

PROBLEM SOLVING

Does your dog have anxiety issues, training problems, biting or jumping?  Classes are available to help with these kinds of problems and issues.
